N is a 9 year old girl (assigned male at birth) who transitioned in February 2018. Before her social transition she was becoming more and more unhappy. We had a very important and life changing conversation with her when we defined transgender. She looked at my husband and said, “That’s me!” She has never looked back since. Shortly after, she transitioned at school and came out to our friends and family. This year in March 2019 she began hormone blockers to begin the medical part of her journey. She is a happy and loving child who enjoys reading (particularly Rick Riordan), video games, school and her dogs.
